Dr. Trula Davis is a native of Williamson County. She graduated from Franklin High School and then received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Tech University. While at Tech as a Co-op student, she worked on submarines and participated on the mini-baha team. She worked ten years in Aerospace working on military jet engines.

Dr. Davis continued her education and attended Southern College of Optometry (SCO) graduating Cum Laude. While attending SCO, she participated in SCOSH (Student Volunteer Optometry Service to Humanity) making a trip to Costa Rica each year. She also helped with Habitat for Humanity in Memphis and was a member of the FCO (Fellowship of Christian Optometrist).

Upon graduation from SCO Dr. Davis completed her residency in Primary Eyecare at the Lawton Indian Hospital through Northeastern College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK. The residency emphasized both Ocular Pathology (glaucoma, macular degeneration) as well as Systemic Conditions which can damage the eye (diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and auto immune conditions).

Because Dr. Davis enjoyed the challenging pathology after completing her residency she remained in Oklahoma to work for the Muskogee Creek Nation for seven years. She especially valued the relationships she developed with her patients. It was not uncommon for her patients to have several conditions which affected their vision. She will always be grateful for all they taught her. Dr. Davis proctored 4th year students from Canada during this time period.

Dr. Trula Davis is excited about opening Tru-i-Care in Williamson County and serving the citizens of Franklin and Brentwood and the surrounding areas.

Dr. Davis is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). She has made presentations and posters at academic and professional meetings.

When Dr. Davis is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, anything associated with airplanes and working out at the gym.
